I would like to take this opportunity to immeasurably appreciate Saindak Metals Limited’s dynamic role in developing and specifically transforming the lives of the natives of district Chagai and its neighboring regions since 1974.  I would also like to take this chance to have a glance at the past and talk about SML as a whole.

Saindak Copper-Gold Project (SCGP) of Saindak Metals Limited (SML) (formerly, Resource Development Corporation) was established on April 1974, under the Companies Ordinance, to plan, prospects, organize, execute and implement exploration, evaluation, extraction, production, development and marketing of minerals, metals and ore. The first project assigned by Federal Government of Pakistan to SML is Saindak Copper-Gold Project, located in Saindak, District Chagai of Balochistan Province. Saindak Metals Limited being the first Mining industry in Pakistan, intends for the exploration of Copper deposits in the Mineral rich district (Chagai) of Balochistan and in correlation to which, Saindak Metals Limited signed an agreement with Geological Survey of Pakistan, for drilling in the leased areas of SML in (Durbanchah and Chigendiq) for exploration of Copper and Gold. The management of SML is also targeting to explore Dasht-e-Kain project which contains Copper prospects of 300 to 400 Million tons of Copper ore and Molybdenum.

SML’s top priority is to largely emphasis the penurious province of Balochistan and its unheeded natives. As a semi government company owned by the Government of Pakistan, SML covering a wide variety services for the natives of Balochistan from community uplifting to sponsorship for the most deserving youth and healthcare to advancement planning. SML together is a corporate other than a resource leader in its community. An extensive range of social activities for enriching the natives of the region since 2005 towards Corporate Social Responsibility related activities.

The countless efforts, exertions, labour, & determination of Saindak Metals Limited (SML) & MCC Metallurgical Resources Development Company Limited (MRDL) China in impeccably & successfully carrying out the project since its inception, the working relation is a paradigm for the amelioration of the project as well as for the people of Balochistan by providing career opportunities to more than 1,800 natives of Balochistan focusing Chagai and both the governments have often contributed substantial amount to the government exchequers. SML & MRDL, have copiously affianced its zestful approach in evolving & flourishing the lives of hundreds & thousands of indigenous people of Chagai and its neighbouring villages and will carry on by doing so. Our optimistic perspective has always been to prioritize and emphasis the indigent yet forsaken province of Balochistan by developing and uplifting the community in providing Education, Sponsorships, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Road Communications and be the catalyst for the overlooked youth of Chagai in generating income under the umbrella of Corporate Social Responsibility. During these 23 assiduous years, the operations of the project has gone through thick and thin, SCGP is committed to integrate the social, economic and environmental needs/concerns of the society to its business operations.

The future of Saindak Copper-Gold Project relies on capable hands of the proficient & talented youth of Balochistan in carrying out the project to the higher level and persuasively by sending 30 to 40 existing engineers from SCGP to China for research based studies as well as focusing on the talented youth of Balochistan by exclusively handpicking and further sending them to China’s renowned University of Mining & Technology as scholarship students for becoming the future engineers in the field of Mining and becoming PHDs.

It is very essential that, we use our time wisely and move forward as decisively and swiftly as we can and that will only be possible with continued dedication and team work. The past few years had a significant impact on all of us. The year ahead of us would bring its own challenges but I am sure that by working together and keeping focused on our priorities, we can recognize our determinations.
